Introduction

Welcome to the Alberta Table Tennis Association web page. We are a registered non-profit organization and are affiliated with Table Tennis Canada, Sport Alberta, the Edmonton Sport Council and Calgary Sport Council.

Our Mission

The ATTA is committed to providing Albertans with the opportunity to participate in table tennis for sport and recreation.  ATTA programs promote both grassroot development and high performance training.

How are we funded?

We have two major funding agencies: Alberta Sport Recreation Parks and Wildlife Foundation and Alberta Gaming. The remainder comes from programs, fundraising, sponsorship and membership.

What do we do?

  • Foster an interest in table tennis through demonstrations, clinics and a variety of programs
  • Promote ideals of good sportsmanship  and fitness through table tennis activities
  • Govern sanctioned table tennis events in the province
  • Provide training and competition for aspiring provincial team members
  • Subsidize Alberta Team training, travel and competition
  • Host competitions throughout the year
  • Develop, organize and promote coaching and officials development
  • Offer club assistance
  • Support volunteer programs
  • Disseminate information, records and instructional materials on table tennis
  • Keep in touch with our membership

Quick Facts

We have over 1200 members, 400 of whom play competitively.  Our members range in age from 8 to 80 and represent all walks of life.  There are normally 5 sanctioned tournaments each year and a number of non sanctioned events including Edmonton Corporate Challenge, Calgary Annual Schools Tournament, and the Winter Games.
