Top ten athletes in Alberta were selected for the Provincial Men's Team Trial according to the results of the Calgary Chinatown Open (September 25-26, 1999), Calgary Open (October 30-31, 1999) and Edmonton Open (January 29-30, 2000) tournaments. Among the ten players, Christopher Beckford was not in Alberta at the above times for the team trial, and Christopher Leong did not participate in the second part of the team trial.

Based on both tournament and team trial results, the top eight athletes in Alberta have been determined as
